SBA TO HONOR ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESS CHAMPIONS AT 45TH ANNUAL SMALL BUSINESS WEEK AWARDS
TAwards luncheon to highlight best and brightest entrepreneurs & champions from Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties on September 25th at the Hilton Anaheim
SANTA ANA, CA - The Santa Ana District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration will recognize a distinguished group of small business owners and champions on September 25th at the Hilton Anaheim during the 45th Annual Small Business Week Awards luncheon. The Santa Ana District Office of the SBA will also be celebrating its 20th year of service to Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties. The SBA is proud to have the Rancho Santiago Community College District Foundation as a partner for this year's event.
SBA District Director J. Adalberto Quijada said, "The SBA recognizes the honorees for their success as business owners and contributions to their communities. Their success plays a critical role in strengthening and maintaining our nation's economy. We are proud that once again our district has produced exceptional winners, including eight district winners, two regional winners, one national winner, and the California Small Business Person of the Year."
The winners are as follows:
Dr. Thanh Duc Nguyen, owner of Knowlwood Enterprises, Inc., is the California Small Business Person of the Year. Dr. Nguyen represented California and was honored by the SBA at festivities in Washington, D.C. Knowlwood Enterprises, Inc. is headquartered in Fountain Valley. Knowlwood Restaurants can ben found in Anaheim, Fullerton, Irvine, Laguna Niguel and Santa Ana. Dr. Nguyen resides in Westminster.
Kimberly Davidson, owner of MBD Marketing, Inc., is the National Home-Based Business Champion of the Year. Ms. Davidson competed and won at the district, regional and national levels and was invited to be recognized at festivities in Washington, D.C. Ms. Davidson resides in Murrieta.
The Pack family, owners of Mark Company, is the Region IX Family-Owned Business of the Year. The Pack family competed and won at the district and regional levels. Region IX includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Guam. Mark Company is headquartered in Orange. Garret Pack, Chairman, and his family reside in Laguna Beach.
Robert W. Yaap, CEO of Great Pacific Securities, Inc., is the Region IX Veteran Small Business Champion of the Year. Mr. Yaap competed and won at the district and regional levels. Region IX includes Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and Guam. Great Pacific Securities, Inc. is headquartered in Costa Mesa. Mr. Yaap resides in Mission Viejo.
Nancy Russell, Vice President/Regional Sales Manager at Comerica Bank - SBA Division in Costa Mesa is the Financial Services Champion of the Year. Ms. Russell resides in Yorba Linda.
