AWE Spring 2007 Activities
The Asian Women Entrepreneurs had a sizzling Spring activity, organizing a fantastic business networking with their member, Perfume Bay of Huntington Beach on Saturday, April 28 2007. Perfume Bay Owner/President-CEO Jacquelyn Tran and AWE co-founders Josie Dela Cruz, Alice Lei, and Jeannie Luong have spent many hours getting ready for the event to promote the gigantic parking lot pre-Mother's Day gifts sales.
The event kicked off at 10 a.m. with a bang. Scores of AWE members and volunteers arrived, coming from all over directions to attend the event. Some members came as far as from San Diego, Palmdale, Los Angeles and outlying counties to participate in the business networking opportunity. Other business owners, an author-nutritionist Chef Marie Annick set up a table marketing her newly released book entitled South Beach Dieting, already a best seller. Mary Ann Puzon of Angel's Jewelries and Accessories displayed her beautiful women accessories and leather wares, complementing the perfume and cosmetic lines offered by Perfume Bay. Delicious refreshments and valuable door prizes generously contributed by AWE members for opportunity drawings, greatly enlightened the sales event. What a success AWE and our entrepreneur/member Perfume Bay had at this event! The parking lot pre-Mother's Day gifts sales brought in a whoopy $5000+ business to Perfume Bay. A certain percentage of the proceeds will be donated by Jacquelyn to AWE scholarship programs. Kudos to everyone!
Keeping our Spring activities going, AWE sponsored the 8th Annual E-Business Conference, OC E-Biz 2007, in collaborative with CalState Fullerton on May 4. This event was well attended, as usual. This conference features many popular and recognized speakers such as Jan Norman, Columist, Orange County Register; Patricia Coleman, eBay Education Specialist and eBay Power Seller; Dave Yonamine, President, Darplea Double Auction Marketplace. The goal of this E-Business Conference was to provide educational and know how to businesses every features one needs to be successful online, maximizing global business networking opportunities through internet access and effective websites. In depth and savvy knowledge of the nuts and bolts of today's E-Business will undoubtedly bring enormous successes and profits to companies and corporations, small or large in size. AWE, very sensitive to our entrepreneurs' needs for technology knowledge, will continue to sponsor this E-Business workshop in collaboration with CalState Fullerton and the U. S Small Business Administration Santa Ana District Office. Stay tune for our next workshop.
AWE members are invited to attend upcoming Saturday, 5/12 breakfast event at the Irvine Spectrum Nordstrom Store at 8:00 a.m. Our co-founder and incoming president Jeannie Luong will be recognized by the Asian Business Association (ABA) for her outstanding Community Leadership Services, in celebration of the Annual Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The event is free of charge and approx. 300 guests will be in attendance. Please access ABA website for further details.
